SHE made an incredible £100,000 in just four weeks on adult website OnlyFans.

But due to growing up in a “conservative” household, influencer Mona Wu kept her double life secret from her family – for fear they’d disapprove.

However, she needn’t have worried – as two of her family members decided to follow in her footsteps and set up their own OnlyFans accounts

“I was afraid of being scolded, so I hid my career from them at first,” Mona explained.

“For months, I lived a double life – shooting videos in secret and hoping none of my family members would stumble onto my social media accounts.

“My boyfriend was the only one who knew what I was up to.”

However, the 33-year-old was so incredibly successful on the site that her influx of cash soon became too difficult, so she decided to tell her mum.

“I worried that she would be upset,” she said.

“I was stunned by her reaction – she wasn’t fazed at all.

“Mum was really supportive and encouraged me to pursue my passion.”

And while her mum’s support of her career choice came as something of a surprise to Mona, she was “even more shocked” at how her “other relatives reacted”.

When she shared how much money she was making on OnlyFans, some of her family members were intrigued, and two even asked if they could “follow in her footsteps” on the site.

“Two of my family members now have accounts of their own!” She laughed.

“I’ve given them some tips on how to film good videos – the lighting, setting the scene etc – but I don’t watch their content.

“And they’ve told me that they’re making some great money on the side.

“I know some people might say it’s odd that I inspired my family to join OnlyFans but I had no hesitation in doing it.”

Mona, who’s from Taiwan, added that she considers the site a brilliant solution for people looking to make some extra cash.

What is OnlyFans?

OnlyFans is a subscription content service based in London.

As of 2023, it is thought to have more than 220million registered users and over three million content creators.

Sex workers charge monthly fees for access to pictures, videos and more.

While popular for porn, the site isn’t exclusively designed with that in mind – anyone who wants to build up a fan base and charge them for it can set one up.

Celebs like Katie Price and Kerry Katona are popular personalities on the platform.

“Whether you’re uploading tutorials, tips, behind-the-scenes footage or just endless selfies, a lot of your followers would be willing to pay for them,” the company states.

For every subscription that’s sold to a viewer, performers get 80 per cent of the cash while OnlyFans gets the rest.

It isn’t limited to adult content, as it has become popular with physical fitness experts and musicians.

“I show my face online but you don’t have to,” she said.

“That’s the best part of this job – you can reveal as little or as much as you want.

“It’s been a great side hustle for my family members.”
